Create a Configuration Template

Follow the steps described in this topic to create a configuration template for routers.

Configuration templates enable you to apply Junos OS or Junos OS Evolved set commands to multiple routers across a site at the same time, ensuring consistent and scalable configuration management.

To create a configuration template:

  1. Select Organization > Router Templates > Create Template.
    The New Template pop-up appears.
  2. Enter a name for the template in the Template Name field, and then click Create.
A new configuration template is created and the Router Templates : Template Name page appears.
  3. Enter the Junos OS or Junos OS Evolved set commands to be committed from this configuration template, and then click Save.
For best practices about recommended usage and restrictions, see Configuration Guidelines.
The Confirm Changes pop-up appears, displaying the configuration that was entered in the previous step.
  4. Verify whether the configuration was rendered correctly.
    • If the configuration was not rendered correctly, click the close (X) icon to go back to the Router Templates : Template Name page and make modifications as needed.

    • If the configuration was rendered correctly, click Save.

You are returned to the Router Templates page.

The newly created configuration template is displayed in the templates list.
