About the Custom Rules Tab

Read these topics to understand more about custom rules and rule helper files.

To access this tab, click Observability > Health > Custom KPI Collection > Custom Rules.

You can access the following tabs from the Custom Rules tab:

About the Rules List Tab

To access this tab, click Observability > Health > Custom KPI Collection > Custom Rules > Rules List.

Use this tab to view a list of all custom rules that you uploaded. For more information on custom rules, see Rules Overview.

Tasks You Can Perform

You can perform the following tasks from this tab:

  • View all custom rules.

  • Upload a custom rule. See Upload a Custom Rule.

  • Download a custom rule. See Download a Custom Rule

  • Create a new tag or add a tag to a rule. See Add Tags a Custom Rule.

  • Delete a custom rule. See Delete a Custom Rule.

  • Sort, resize, or re-arrange columns in a table (grid).

  • Show or hide columns in the table or reset page preferences, using the vertical ellipsis menu.

  • Search by using keywords—Click the search icon (magnifying glass), enter the search term in the text box, and press Enter. The search results are displayed on the same page.

  • Filter the data displayed in the table—Click the filter icon (funnel) and select whether you want to show or hide advanced filters. You can then add or remove filter criteria, save criteria as a filter, apply or clear filters, and so on. The filtered results are displayed on the same page.

Field Descriptions

Table 1 lists the fields on the Rules List Tab.

Field Description

Name

Name of the custom rule.

Instance

Total number of rule instances linked to the custom rule.

Tag

Names of all the tags associated with the rule.

A tag is a label (unique key/value pair) that you assign to a rule. You can use these labels to filter rules.

Hover over + number to view the names of the other tags added but are not displayed by default.

Description

Brief description of the custom rule, if any.

About the Rule Helper Files Tab

To access this tab, click Observability > Health > Custom KPI Collection > Custom Rules > Rule Helper Files.

Use this tab to view a list all rule helper files that you uploaded. You can define how data is fetched from a device in the rule helper file.

Note: We recommend that you contact Juniper Networks Professional Services to define a rule helper file based on your requirements.
