Manage Rule Helper Files

Read these topics to understand how to manage rule helper files.

You use a rule helper file to define how data is fetched from a device. You can upload, download, and delete a rule helper file from the Observability > Health > Custom KPI Collection > Custom Rules > Rule Helper Files tab.

Upload a Rule Helper File

You can upload a rule helper file to define how data is fetched from a device.

Note: We recommend that you contact Juniper Networks Professional Services to define a rule helper file based on your requirements.

To upload a rule helper file:

  1. Navigate to the Rule Helper Files tab.

  2. Click Upload Rule.

    The Upload Helper File page appears.

  3. Click Browse and navigate to location of the file on your local file system.

  4. Click Open after you select the file.

    The Upload Helper File page appears.

  5. Click Upload to upload the rule helper file.

    The Rule Helper Files tab appears and displays the newly added rule helper file.

Download a Rule Helper File

You can download an existing rule helper file from the Rule List Tab.

To download a rule helper file:

  1. Navigate to the Rule Helper Files tab.

  2. Select the file that you want to download by clicking the check box next to the name of the file, and click Download.

    The rule helper file is downloaded and saved in your local file system.

Delete a Rule Helper File

You can delete a rule helper file from the Rules Helper files tab. Before you delete a rule helper file, you must ensure that the file that you want to delete is not associated with any rule.

To delete a rule instance:

  1. Navigate to the Rules Helper Files tab.

  2. Select the rule helper file that you want to delete by selecting the check box next to the name of the file, and click the Delete (Dustbin) icon.

    The Confirm Delete pop-up appears.

  3. Click Yes to delete the rule helper file.

    The rule helper file is deleted and removed from the All Helper Files table.
