Apstra Edge Overview
This page describes the role of an Apstra Edge device in a data center managed by Data Center Director.
Apstra Edge is a hardware-agnostic virtual device that runs within a container in the data center. Apstra Edge functions as a proxy device in data centers with IPv4 or IPv6 deployments managed by Juniper Data Center Director. It receives event and anomaly information from Data Center Director and forwards that data to Data Center Assurance.
-
The Juniper Apstra Edge device must be running version 0.56.0 or higher to support IPv6 addresses.
-
In order to use IPv6 addresses, you must enable IPv6 management on the Juniper Apstra Edge device. For more information, see Enabling IPv6-Based Management of the HPE Networking Apstra Data Center Director Cluster and Devices in the Data Center Director User Guide.
Apstra Edge is a required component for enabling Data Center Assurance and its supported features, like Application Awareness, Impact Analysis, and Service Level Expectations.
To enable Apstra Edge to send event information and flow data to Data Center Assurance, you need to adopt Apstra Edge in Data Center Assurance.
