    wired-process-mem-size

    Syntax

    wired-process-mem-size memory-size;

    Hierarchy Level

    [edit chassis fpc slot-number pic pic-number adaptive-services service-package extension-provider]

    Release Information

    Statement introduced in Junos OS Mobility Release 11.2W.

    Description

    Specify the size of the reserved wired process memory (Big Translation Lookaside Buffer [BTLB]) to be used by service applications. Currently, stateful firewall and mobility are the service applications supported. You can also configure object cache. If this setting is changed, the PIC reboots.

    The wired process memory, or BTLB, is memory used by the operating system that is pretty much "off limits" to another application. If wired process memory is exhausted, the processes use unwired memory.

    • BTLB is supported only on 16GB cards. In addition, BTLB is only supported with total-wired-memory of 14336 MB.
    • To use wired memory, you need to configure both wired-max-processes and wired-process-mem-size

      Note: For mobility, we only support a wired-max-processes value of 8, and a wired-process-mem-size value of 1024.

    Options

    Values: memory-size—The total wired process memory to be reserved.
    Range: 0 through 2048 MB
    Default: 0, which indicates that no memory is reserved by service applications.

    Required Privilege Level

    interface—To view this statement in the configuration.

    interface-control—To add this statement to the configuration.
