Syntax

Hierarchy Level

Description

Raise a security alarm when the device or switch detects a specified number of authentication failures (bad password attempts) before an alarm is raised.

This value must be equal to or less than the tries-before-disconnect setting at the [edit system login retry-options] hierarchy level; otherwise, the login session ends before the user reaches the alarmable threshold.

Default

Multiple authentication failures do not cause an alarm to be raised.

Options

failures—Number of authentication failures that causes an alarm to be raised.

  • Range: 1 through 10.
