What's Changed

Learn about what changed in this release for QFX Series Switches.

Interfaces

  • Improve heap memory utilization in link aggregation group (LAG) interfaces in large-scale configurations—If you have a configuration with many interfaces in a large number of VLANs, and you've configured those interfaces as part of a logical aggregated Ethernet interface bundle, the device can approach 100% of its heap memory utilization. To avoid this problem in such large-scale environments, you can set the lag-heap-optimization option to reduce heap memory utilization on the device. When you configure this statement, the Packet Forward Engine on the device restarts.

    [See lag-heap-optimization.]

Network Management and Monitoring

  • Deprecation of shell option—The shell option no longer requires a separate configuration and is now the default behavior. Deprecating the shell option enhances efficiency and simplifies management tasks.

User Interface and Configuration

  • Generate genstate YANG modules on Junos devices—You can use show system schema operational command or equivalent RPC to generate the genstate YANG modules in the specified output directory on a device.

    [See show system schema.]
