Layer 2 VPN

  • Easily enable L2PT for all supported L2CPs (EX4100, EX4300-MP, and EX4400)—Starting in Junos OS Release 22.3R1, you can use a single configuration to enable Layer 2 protocol tunneling (L2PT) for all the Layer 2 Control Protocols (L2CPs) supported on a device. You use L2PT to deliver Layer 2 (L2) traffic to devices that are not part of the local broadcast domain. For example, you might use L2PT to run L2 protocols on a network where a service provider network connects switches located at remote sites.

To enable L2PT for all L2CPs on an interface instead of configuring the protocols one by one, use the all option at the [edit protocols layer2-control mac-rewrite interface interface-name protocol] hierarchy level. To view the protocols for which L2PT is enabled, use the show mac-rewrite interface and show ethernet-switching table commands.
