Description
Set the time that the device waits before electing a designated forwarder (DF).
Customer edge (CE) devices require a DF when they are multihomed to more than one provider edge (PE) device. Without a designated forwarder, multihomed hosts would receive duplicate packets. The multihomed peer devices choose DFs for an Ethernet segment identifier (ESI) based on EVPN Type 4 route advertisements. EVPN Type 4 routes are called Ethernet segment routes.
