local-address (Junos Telemetry Interface)

Syntax

Hierarchy Level

Description

For legacy gRPC dialout connections, configure the local IPv4 or IPv6 address in an export profile.

Configuring the local address lets you bypass the current default way of addressing, which is that the outgoing interface IP address is used as the source address. You can configure the local address to be your router's specified IP address, interface address, or a loopback address.

You can only configure an IPv6 address as the local address for legacy remote procedure call (gRPC) dial-out connections,. If you try to commit the configuration with an export profile that contains transport type as udp instead of grpc an error is displayed.

Note:

Starting with Junos OS release 25.4R1, the format and transport options are deprecated. Use the CLI option dialout-type at the [edit services analytics export-profile name] hierarchy to specify the type of dial-out connection. Select the option native-grpc-gpb for gpb-gnmi message format and gRPC transport protocol.
