Description
(PTX devices with PTX10K-LC1301-36DD Line Card Only) Chassis PFE interoperability configuration. By default, all line cards on the PTX device are active and interoperate. This command brings up the PTX10K-LC1301-36DD line cards to support the Express5 ASIC capabilities on a supported PTX device. All other line cards remain offline in this mode due to incompatibility. You can verify the current interoperability mode on your device using the show chassis interoperability command.
Any change in the interoperability configuration requires a reboot of the system
including all REs, FPCs, and SIBs using the request system reboot
command. Without a reboot, the system will continue to function with the following
limitations:
- RE redundancy will not be graceful, i.e. GRES capability will not be available. In case of any uncontrolled event resulting in an RE reboot, the full system must be restarted immediately.
-
Individual REs should not be rebooted.
-
If a new RE is plugged into the backup RE slot and brought online, the backup RE may need an additional reboot to ensure it comes up in a consistent state.
Line cards with express4 ASICs, such as LC1201 and LC1202, do not come online in
express5-enhanced mode. The message, FPC incompatible
with interop config, indicates this when you run the show chassis
fpc command. Even a CLI request command cannot bring these cards online.
Use the show chassis interoperability command to view the current
interoperability mode.
