About the Route Explorer Page

To access this page, click Observability > Routing > Route Explorer.

Users with Super User, Network Admin, and Observer roles can monitor the overall routing health of the network in real time by using the Route Explorer dashboard.

Important: To use the Route Explorer dashboard and its features, you must enable Routing Protocol Analytics and configure BGP data collection when you create a device profile. See Add a Device Profile for more information.

This dashboard consists of the following tabs:

  • Routing Status—View the states of all routing prefixes.

  • Routing Updates—View a record of all routes added to and deleted from the routing information base (RIB).

  • Adjacencies (Route Explorer)—View BGP peers in the network for which BGP state or BGP RIB monitoring is enabled.

  • Devices (Route Explorer)—View details of BGP speakers in the network for which BGP state or BGP RIB monitoring is enabled.

You can also view a time series graph of the total number of routes, and routing events. These graphs can be viewed for a predefined or for a custom period.
