Planner offers extensive reporting capabilities for network planning and simulation. These reports help quickly assess and summarize network-related data and can be generated in the CSV (comma-separated) or text format.

After you run simulation on your network model, Routing Director generates a report. These reports are listed on the Reports page. (Planning > Networks > Offline Models > Model-Name > Reports).

On the Reports page, you can do the following:

  • View the list of reports generated for each simulation in the Simulation table. The Simulation table displays the following information (columns):

    • Report—Every time you run a simulation, a list of reports is generated. This column groups the reports simulation-wise. Click on each report to view detailed information about that report.

    • Description—Describes the report.

    • Created—Displays the date and time at which the report is generated.

    • Filename—Displays the filename of the report. Click the link to download the report.

    • Size—Size of the report.

  • View the details of each report— To view the details of exhaustive and what-if reports.

    • Click the Exhaustive down-arrow in the Simulation table under Reports. The following reports are generated for tunnels and demands:

      • Traffic on Links—Includes information on each link's peak utilization caused due to one or more failed elements. Click the link to view the report.

      • Oversubscribed Links—Includes information on the links that have more than 100% utilization during exhaustive failure simulation. Click the link to view the report.

      • Failed Tunnel Path —Includes information on tunnels that were unable to reroute, and the events that prevented tunnel reroute during exhaustive failure simulation. Click the link to view the report. This report is generated only for tunnels .

      • Failed Path —Includes information on failed paths, and the events that prevented reroute during exhaustive failure simulation. Click the link to view the report. This report is generated only for demands.

      • Simulation Summary—Includes information on the summary of the count, bandwidth, and the number of hops of the tunnels that were failed or were impacted during exhaustion simulation. Click the link to view the report.

    • Click the What-if down-arrow in the Simulation table under Reports. The following reports are generated :

      • Demand Change—Includes information on demands that were impacted by the failure, and the old and new path information for each of those demands.

      • Link Change—Includes information on links that were affected by the failure, which includes the links which went down due to failure and links whose bandwidth utilization changed as a result of rerouting of tunnels and demands through them.

      • Tunnel Change—Includes information on tunnels that were impacted by the failure, the original path and new path for each tunnel.

  • Download reports—You can download reports in the following ways:

    • On the Simulation table, click the link in the Filename column. The report is downloaded to your local system.

    • On the Simulation table, click the Exhaustive down-arrow > Report-Name (link). You are directed to the page that displays information on the specific report. Click the Download option. The report is downloaded to your local system.
