About the Test Agents Page
To access this page, click Inventory > Active Assurance > Test Agents.
Test Agents evaluate the quality of your network by collecting metric data for preconfigured key performance indicators (KPIs). Test Agents deployed in different locations in your network send metric data to Routing Director over management interfaces. For more information on Test Agents, see Test Agents Overview.
You (superusers and network administrators) can view the following widgets on the Test Agents page:

Urgent actions needed—Displays all the critical issues that require immediate attention or intervention as the issues impact the functioning of the Test Agent.

Actions needed—Displays all the major issues that require attention as the issues impact the functioning of the Test Agent.
-
Total—Displays the total number of Test Agents in the network.
-
In Use—Displays the number of Test Agents that are actively running a Test or a Monitor.
The term Test Agent refers to both the Test Agent Application and Test Agent Appliance. If a specific type of Test Agent is intended, it is mentioned explicitly.
Tasks You Can Perform
You can perform the following tasks on the Test Agents GUI:

View details of Test Agents—You can view the list of all the Test Agents in your network and you can also view details of a Test Agent you have selected. To view the details of Test Agents, select a Test Agent and click More > Details. You can also hover over the Test-Agent-Name and click the Detailed View icon. The Test Agent Details pane appears on the right side of the page displaying the Test Agent details.
On the Test Agent Details pane, you can:

Copy API Request URL—You can copy the API Request URL so that you can reuse the copied API request URL to fetch the Test Agent details.

View information such as, name, description, tags, ID, types, online, creation, execution status, and so on of the Test Agents.

Edit the name, description, and tags of the Test Agent.
Click the Close (x) icon to close the pane.

Add a Test Agent—Routing Director allows you to discover Test Agent Applications and Test Agent Appliances. For Routing Director to discover any Test Agent, you need to add a Test Agent Application or Test Agent Appliance by using the Add Test Agent button. For more information, see Add a Test Agent.

View the Test Agent Gateway Hostname—You can view and copy the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses used by Test Agents to communicate with Routing Director.

View details of a Test Agent—To view the details of a selected Test Agent, click a Test-Agent-Name. The Test Agent Details page displays the following tabs:

Overview—Displays the location details, total number of online and offline interfaces, system information, and the status of the network interfaces on Test Agents.
For Test Agent Appliances, you can also view the software upgrade-related information and configure the global interface settings (including management and NTP).

Interfaces—Displays the list of Test Agent interfaces and their details such as IP addresses (IPv4, IPv6) and management interface, and so on.

Download & Run—Displays the secret key and commands required to download, install, and run a new Test Agent Application in a Docker environment and the cloud-init configuration commands used to setup Test Agent Appliance on various virtualization platforms. For more information, see About the Test Agent-Name Page.

You can also perform the following tasks on this page:

Sort, resize, or re-arrange columns in a table (grid).

Show or hide columns in the table or reset page preferences, using the vertical ellipsis menu.

Filter the data displayed in the table—Click the filter icon (funnel) and select whether you want to show or hide advanced filters. You can then add or remove filter criteria, save criteria as a filter, apply or clear filters, and so on. The filtered results are displayed on the same page.

| ID |
The Universal Unique Identifier (UUID) of the Test Agent. |
| Name |
The name of the Test Agent that you have specified at the time of installing a Test Agent. Based on the icon of the Test Agent, you can identify the type of Test Agent.

| Description | The description of the Test Agent that you have specified at the time of configuring the Test Agent. You can also edit the description from the Test-Agent Details page. |

Online |
The connection status of the Test Agent. For more information, see Table 2. |

Device Online |
The connection status of the device on which the Test Agent is installed. For more information, see Table 2. |

In Use |
In use indicates whether the Test Agent is actively collecting traffic measurements or not. True—Test Agent is actively collecting traffic measurements. False—Test Agent is not collecting traffic measurements. |

Events |
The total number of Test Agent-related events generated by Routing Director. The Events column displays the number of issues that are related to Test Agents or measurements related to Test Agents. It also displays icons representing different severity levels in the order of priority. The highest priority is marked as Critical, indicating the most urgent issues, while the lowest priority is labeled as Informational, signifying minor notifications. Click the Event-Number-link and the Events page appears displaying the list of Test Agent-related events generated by Routing Director. For more information, see Table 3. |
| IPv4 Address | The IPv4 address of the device interfaces from which Routing Director initiates the test. |
| IPv6 Address | The IPv6 address of the device interfaces from which Routing Director initiates the test. |
| External IP (Address) |
The public IP address of the Test Agent. Based on the Test Agent deployment, this IP address is a static or dynamic (using DHCP) assignment. |
| Software version |
The software version of the Test Agent. |

Device ID |
The UUID of the device on which the Test Agent is deployed. |
|
Device Model |
The model of the device on which the Test Agent is deployed. |
|
Device Name |
The name of the device on which the Test Agent is deployed. |
|
Device State |
The installation status of Test Agent on a device. For example, Configuring, Installing, Installed, Deconfiguring, Uninstalling, Uninstalled, Failed, or Error. |

Device Requested State |
The installation status that you have requested during the process of installing a Test Agent on a device. For example, if you have requested to install a Test Agent on a device, the Device State can be anything from Configuring to Error, but the Device Requested State will be Installed. |

Device Version |
The OS version of the device on which the Test Agent is deployed. For example, 23.2R1.15-EVO. |
| Tags |
The tags configured for the Test Agent in the key:value format. By default, only two tags are displayed in the column. To view more than two tags, click + Number more. A tag is a key-value pair in which the key signifies a category for which you configure a value. The value is an identifier for the category. Examples of key-value pairs are device and device name (edgedevice:acx7000), site and site name (site:bangalore). You can configure tags from the Test-Agent Details page. |

The email address of the user that added the Test Agent. |

The email address of the user that modified the Test Agent. |
| Deleted By |
The email address of the user that deleted the Test Agent. |
| Undeleted By |
The email address of the user that restored a previously deleted Test Agent. |
| Version |
The upgraded version of the Test Agent software. For example, 5.0.0.0. |
| Appliance Enabled |
The status of the Test Agent Appliance. The status indicates whether the appliance is operational and participating in Test or Monitor execution or not. |
| Appliance Version |
The software version of the Test Agent Appliance installed on the device. For example, 5.1.0.18. |
| Appliance Upgrade Status |
The current upgrade status (In Progress, Completed, or Failed) of the Test Agent Appliance. |
| Appliance Upgrade Requested ID |
The unique identifier (UUID) of the requested Test Agent Appliance upgrade. |
| Appliance Requested By Email |
The email address of the user that requested the upgrade for the Test Agent Appliance. |
| Appliance Request Time |
The date and time when the upgrade for Test Agent Appliance was requested. The timestamp is displayed in the following format: Month DD, YYYY, HH:MM:SS AM/PM. For example, Feb 5, 2024, 4:29:52 PM. |
| Appliance Upgrade Reason |
The reason described while upgrading the Test Agent Appliance. For example, maintanence upgrade. |
| Appliance Upgrade Version |
The version number to which the Test Agent Appliance is requested to be upgraded. For example, 5.2.0.18. |
| Appliance Receive Time |
The date and time when the Test Agent Appliance upgrade package was received by Routing Director. The timestamp is displayed in the following format: Month DD, YYYY, HH:MM:SS AM/PM. For example, Feb 5, 2024, 4:29:52 PM. |

| Severity |
The severity level of the event that is raised by Test Agents. The following are the severity levels: Critical—Indicates that the event is critical and the issue needs immediate attention. Warning—Indicates that the issue that has caused the event needs to be fixed but does not require immediate attention. Info—Indicates the progress of a task and provides information on the event. The informational event does not require immediate attention. Error—Indicates that the issue that has caused the event needs to be fixed and requires immediate attention and troubleshooting. |

The description that you specified when you configured the evaluation criteria for a Test. |
| Raise Time |
The date and time when the event was generated. The timestamp is displayed in the following format: Month DD, YYYY, HH:MM:SS AM/PM. The date and time is displayed according to the Raise delay you specified when you configured the evaluation criteria for a Test. For example, Sep 5, 2024, 4:29:52 PM. |
| Clear Time |
The date and time when the event was cleared. The timestamp is displayed in the following format: Month DD, YYYY, HH:MM:SS AM/PM. The date and time is displayed according to the Clear delay you specified when you configured the evaluation criteria for a Test. For example, Sep 5, 2024, 4:29:52 PM. |

Subject |
Click the Show link to view the details of event generated in JSON format. It displays Test Agent ID, Test ID, Task ID, Stream ID, and so on. |

Click the Show link to view the details of the evaluation criteria associated with the event generated. |
