Add a Path Intent
Path intents implement specific LSP or segment routing policy configurations that define how traffic should be routed through the network. The path intent consists of the following three sub-profiles:
-
Tunnel profile—Defines specific properties of the LSP.
-
Optimization profile—Defines when the LSP must be recomputed.
-
Endpoints profile—Defines the endpoints of the LSP.
To create a path intent profile:
Navigate to Network Optimization > Network > Network Optimization Intent.
The Topology page is displayed with the topology map at the center and the network information table at the bottom of the page.
Navigate to the Path Intent tab.
Click the plus icon (+).
The Create Path Intent page appears.
Complete the configuration according to the guidelines in Table 1.
Note: Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.Do one of the following:
Click Save Draft, to save the path intent. Save the path intent profile if you intend to modify it later.
Click Publish, to publish the path intent. Publish the path intent if you want to apply the path intent to your network.
A message indicating that the path intent is created appears. You are returned to the Path Intent tab where you can view the newly added path intent.
Column | Description |
---|---|
Name | Specify the name of the path intent. You cannot use space, comma, or semicolon. |
Description | Enter a description for the path intent. |
Tunnel Profile | Select a tunnel profile from the list. A tunnel profile defines the properties
of an LSP. Only published tunnel profiles are listed here. |
Optimization Profiles |
Select an optimization profile from the list. An optimization profile defines the conditions when an LSP must be recomputed. Only published optimization profiles are listed here. |
Endpoint group |
Select an endpoint group from the list. An endpoint group defines the source and destination endpoints of an LSP. Only published endpoint profiles are listed here. |
Update Option | Select whether you want a new tunnel to provisioned before deleting the old tunnel or you want an old tunnel to be deleted before provisioning the new tunnel. |
