Overview

You can monitor CN2 in the same way you monitor other Kubernetes components, using kubectl, Lens, or other standard Kubernetes methods.

You can also install the optional Contrail Analytics package, which packages Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd, and other popular open source software together with Contrail telemetry exporters to provide you with insight into the general health, performance, and traffic trends of the network. Included with Contrail Analytics is the CN2 GUI, which you can use to monitor and configure CN2 components.

Additionally, we provide a kubectl plug-in that you can invoke to check the status of CN2 components from the command line. The contrailstatus plug-in allows you to query the CN2 configuration, control, and data plane components as well as BGP and XMPP relationships.
