QFX5250 MAC Address Allocation

The QFX5250 switch has a pool of MAC addresses assigned sequentially to its components, starting from a base MAC address printed on the motherboard.

For the allocation order of MAC addresses in QFX5250 switch, see Table 2.

Table 2: MAC Address Allocation
Component Number of MACs Range
Motherboard 1280 Base MAC through base MAC+1279
CPU 5 Base MAC+1280 through base MAC+1284
BMC 2 Base MAC+1280 through base MAC+1281

The BMC MAC addresses are not unique or additional. The two MAC addresses of the BMC are the same as the first two MAC addresses of the CPU.

Note: To identify the BMC MAC address, add 1280 to the printed base MAC address on the QFX5250 switch.
