Installing the JSA Hardware
Place the shipping container on a flat surface and carefully remove the hardware components.
To install the Juniper Secure Analytics (JSA) appliance:
- Mount the JSA appliance in your server rack using the attached mounting brackets.
- Plug the power cord into the AC receptacle on the rear
panel. See Figure 1. If your
JSA contains two power supplies, plug a power cord into each of the

- Plug the other end of the power cord into a wall socket. If your JSA appliance contains two power supplies, plug each power cord into a separate power circuit to ensure that the device continues to receive power if one of the power circuits fails.
- Plug the Ethernet cable into the port labeled 0 on the front panel. See Figure 2.
When you turn on the power, the internal port uses two LEDs to indicate the LAN connection status.

This cable is shipped with your JSA appliance. It is a console cable and DB-9 connector with 1-8 pinouts.
- Push the power button on the back panel.
The green LED below the power button turns on. The JSA hard disk LED turns on whenever the appliance reads data from or writes data to the JSA hard disk.
