Step 3: Configuring a JSA7800 Appliance

  1. At the console prompt, log in as root (default username). No password is required when you log in for the first time.

    Note: The username is case sensitive.

  2. Press Enter. The End User License Agreement (EULA) appears.
  3. Read the information and press the Spacebar to advance each window until you have reached the end of the agreement.
  4. Type YES to accept the agreement, then press Enter. The Appliance ID selection window appears.

    Note: Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight another option and press the spacebar to make the selection. Use the left/right arrow keys to select Next, Back or Cancel, then press Enter.

Selecting an Appliance ID and Tuning Your Appliance

  1. Select the appliance ID and then press Enter to select Next.
  2. Select one of the following setup types:
    • normal—Default setup

    • recovery—HA recovery setup

Configuring Date and Time for Your Appliance

  1. Select the method you want to use to set the date and time.
    • Manual— Allows you to manually input the date and time. Select Next.

    • Server— Allows you to specify your time server. Select Next.

  2. Select your time zone continent or area, and then select Next.
  3. Select your time zone region, and then select Next.

Selecting the Internet Protocol and Configuring Your Appliance

  1. Select one of the Internet protocols, IPv6 or IPv4.
  2. Select Next. The Management Interface window appears.
  3. Select the management interface, and then select Next.
  4. Enter the values for the following parameters:
    • Hostname— Type a fully qualified domain name as the system hostname

    • IP Address, Network Mask, Gateway, and Primary DNS

    • Optional— Secondary DNS and Public IP.

    • Email server— E-mail server name. If you do not have an e-mail server, specify the local host in this field.

  5. Enter the new admin password. Re-enter your new admin password to confirm.

    Note: The Admin Password Setup screen appears only in case of TA/LA All-In-One or Console installation.

  6. Select Next. The New Root Password window appears.
  7. Enter your new root password. Re-enter your new root password to confirm, and select Finish.

    A series of messages appears as JSA continues with the installation. Based on the appliance ID selected, the installation process may take from several minutes to few hours to complete. TA "All-In-One" or Console installation may take up to 2.5 hours. When the JSA installation process is complete, the message window appears.
