Creating Your Virtual Machine

To install a JSA virtual appliance, you must first create a virtual machine.

Create a virtual machine using VMWare ESXi, KVM, or using the Hyper-V plugin on Windows Server 2016 with all Windows updates applied.

  1. Create a virtual machine using VMWare ESXi with hardware version 13, KVM, or using the Hyper-V plugin on Windows Server 2016 with all Windows updates applied.Note

If you are installing a JSA appliance in Hyper-V, you must do a software installation, not an appliance installation.

  2. Configure your virtual machine to meet the requirements for CPUs, RAM, and storage parameters. See System Requirements for Virtual Appliances.
  3. Configure at least one network interface for your virtual machine.

Install the JSA software on your virtual machine.
