    Understanding the Overview of Authentication

    Before accessing any of the REST interface, the user must be authenticated using the IP/MPLSView login procedure.

    Follow these steps to ensure a properly authenticated session:

    1. The session cookie JSESSIONID should be kept across requests
    2. A GET request should be made to /start.jsp to create a session cookie
    3. A POST request to /wandl/servlet/LoginServlet should be made as follows:
      • The Referrer header should be set to: http://<server:port>/wandl/jsp/webMain.jsp
      • The JSESSIONID cookie should be sent
      • The content-type should be application/x-www-form-urlencoded.
      • The data should be:

        userid=<user>

        passwd=<password>

    4. With valid credential the subsequent requests using the JSESSIONID cookie will be authorized
