Configuring a Default Ethernet Interface (CTP Menu)

 

You are required to reboot the CTP device when you finish this configuration procedure.

To configure the default Ethernet interface by using the CTP Menu:

  1. From the Main menu, select 5) Node Operations.
  2. Select 3) Configure network settings.
  3. Select 2) IPv4 Configuration or 3) IPv6 Configuration.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to select and specify a default Ethernet interface.
  5. Configure the options as described in Table 3. Note

    Do not add a route to the default Ethernet interface.

On the default Ethernet interface, specifies the IP address of the default next-hop gateway, which is the Ethernet interface on the router.

Specifies the maximum transmission unit (MTU) for the Ethernet interface.

For IPv4 networks, enter a number from 64 through 1500.

For IPv6 networks, enter a number of at least 1280.
