XL Launches Managed SSL Service on Juniper Networks SSL VPN

New Service Provides Secure Remote Access For Customers Looking to Avoid Costly Business Disruptions During Emergencies

INDONESIA, October 26, 2009 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Indonesian service provider PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk (XL) has launched XConnect, a new managed SSL service running on Juniper Networks' SA4500 SSL VPN appliance. Juniper's highly reliable and secure remote access platform enables XConnect customers to remain operational during emergencies when staff are unable to get to the office.

XConnect provides each customer with a unique URL for secure remote logins, ensuring that users can access their applications and conduct business during emergencies such as terrorist attacks or a major Swine Flu outbreak. The service meets an increasing need for better business continuity from regional businesses looking to minimize revenue loss due to natural catastrophes and man made disasters. Juniper Networks SSL VPN solution gives remote users secure remote access to network resources by using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to connect through XL's MPLS network.

"As IT-dependent businesses our target customers cannot afford to have staff disconnected from their data and applications. To meet their needs, we needed a solution to provide premium secure remote access to mission-critical systems," said Dian Siswarini, XL's Director of Network. "Juniper Networks' industry leadership, solid customer references and highly-regarded security solution met our requirements and selection criteria. They established an excellent rapport with our XConnect project team which ensured our needs were well understood and deployment was smooth."

The SA4500 SSL VPN Appliance is designed for medium-to-large organizations as a cost-effective solution for providing remote and extranet access to applications from any standard web browser. It provides comprehensive protection against remote users and devices that can potentially harm the corporate network. And as there is no client software to deploy or devices to manage, XL benefits from a low total cost of ownership and can maintain a healthy margin on its new service.

"Juniper's SSL VPN solution provides the high-level of remote access security that XL needed to assure their customers that their businesses can maintain secure connectivity during emergencies," said Brad Gray, vice president of Asia South, Juniper Networks. "The deployment by XL is a strong testament of our solutions' capabilities to enable and secure business continuity for organizations in the region who are worried about business disruptions."
