Korean Food Manufacturer Gains Twelve Times Application Performance Boost with Juniper Networks WAN Acceleration Technology

Dongsuh Foods Corporation Dramatically Increases Productivity and Operational Efficiencies Across Global WAN with Juniper Networks WXC Platforms

Seoul, KOREA, March 3, 2009 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Korean food manufacturer Dongsuh Foods Corporation has dramatically increased the productivity and operational efficiencies across its global WAN by deploying the Juniper Networks WXC application acceleration platforms. Response times from Dongsuh's mission critical business software have improved by 12 times, cutting application response times from two minutes to approximately ten seconds.

Dongsuh, established in 1968, has a 70 percent share of Korea's instant coffee, coffee-mix, coffee creamer and cereal markets. The company uses enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to handle all of its key business operations and processes. However, access to the ERP system was degraded by congestion due to the distribution of automatic Microsoft Windows updates across the WAN and other network activity.

Dongsuh turned to Juniper Networks, deploying WXC platforms at its corporate office and 38 branch and sales offices nationwide, completing the roll-out in just nine days with the aid of a Web-based installation wizard.

"Before we implemented Juniper's best-in-class application acceleration platform, there was a time when a large proportion of our 900 users were unable to access our ERP system at all," said Won See-Mook, Dongsuh's IT Manager. "Although we had fast connectivity to our distributed locations nationwide, some branches were unable to get access due to network congestion. Juniper's WXC ensured fast and consistent application response at all times across the WAN, reducing response times from more than two minutes to under 10 seconds and eliminating downtime for this mission-critical resource. This improvement has greatly boosted productivity, allowing us to resume focus on our business objectives and stay competitive."

The Juniper Networks WXC platforms improve application performance over the WAN by recognizing and eliminating redundant transmissions, accelerating TCP and application-specific protocols, prioritizing and allocating access to bandwidth and ensuring high application availability at sites with multiple WAN links.

"High-performance WAN infrastructure is crucial to the success of distributed enterprises such as Dongsuh Foods," said Tim Kang, Juniper's vice president of Korea. "Besides reducing costly bandwidth usage, our WXC platform also delivers excellent QoS and an integrated configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting capability, empowering businesses with a more efficient infrastructure and better return on investment."
