Lockheed Martin Joins Juniper Networks Open IP Solution Development Program

SUNNYVALE, Calif., February 23, 2009 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company has joined the Juniper Networks Open IP Solution Development Program (OSDP). As a member of the OSDP, Juniper Networks provides Lockheed Martin with access to the Partner Solution Development Platform (PSDP), which enables customers and partners to develop specialized applications on its best-in-class JUNOS® software.

The PSDP provides a powerful set of resources, including a software development kit (SDK) with intelligent and secure interfaces to JUNOS routing and service functions, and technical and business support. By building applications on top of JUNOS software, customers and partners can reduce the time and expense associated with application development, deployment and the ongoing operations of supporting new solutions.

"With the PSDP, Juniper provides us with a unique ability to add special customer features to the high-performance, robust JUNOS software," said Richard W. Skinner, vice president, Strategic Planning, Global Communications Systems at Lockheed Martin Space Systems. "Given our passion for innovation and the critical nature of our business, JUNOS with its inherent security and stability, provides a solid foundation for our defense applications that are designed to meet the specific requirements of the federal government."

"We are thrilled to have a world class systems integrator such as Lockheed Martin join the Open IP Solution Development Program," said Craig Bardenheuer, vice president of Open IP Business, Juniper Networks. "By combining the unique expertise of our partners with the high-performance and operational efficiency of JUNOS software, the PSDP will continue to accelerate the pace of innovation in a way that provides high value for our mutual customers."

JUNOS software is the single operating system running routing, switching and security platforms from Juniper Networks. With its modular architecture and single-source code, JUNOS provides a proven foundation for delivering best-in-class performance, reliability, security and scale with attractive total cost of ownership.
