Juniper Networks Showcases IP/MPLS Leadership at FutureNet 2008
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Monday, April 14, 2008 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that its technology leaders will participate in five compelling speaking sessions at the eighth annual FutureNet Expo in Boston from April 14-17. Juniper Networks will also highlight its industry-leading IP/MPLS capabilities in Booth #9.
Nikhil Shah, director of the Wireless/FMC Segment at Juniper and vice president of IP/MPLS Forum's International Development, will lead a tutorial on "IP/MPLS in Mobile Radio Access Networks" on Monday, April 14, at 8:30 a.m. This tutorial will examine the principal drivers for a new IP/MPLS backhaul transport infrastructure that accommodates the scaling needs of the evolving mobile networks.
Tom DiMicelli, product marketing manager at Juniper, will moderate two panels on Monday, April 14. The first panel, at 11:00 a.m., is entitled "Carrier Ethernet Network to Network Interface;" this session will include a discussion of Ethernet Network to Network Interface (E-NNI) and its significance including an examination of the scope of the Metro Ethernet Forum's (MEF) ENN-I Phase 1 work. At 11:30, Tom will moderate a second session, "Certification Status Report," which will review the MEF certification process, as well as who and what has been MEF certified.
Dr. Yakov Rekhter, Juniper fellow, will present a tutorial on "Multicast in MPLS/VPLS Networks" on Monday, April 14, at 1:30 p.m. This tutorial will focus on the emerging industry standards/agreements supporting multicast in BGP/MPLS VPN and VPLS networks.
Ron Bonica, consulting engineer at Juniper, will present on Wednesday, April 16, at 3:15 p.m. on "Rethinking the Internet Routing Architecture." During this session, Bonica will discuss the issues surrounding the growth of Internet routing tables, and how alternative approaches may provide for more scalable, more reliable routing architectures.
Amit Shukla, senior software engineer at Juniper, will present on Thursday, April 17, at 11:00 a.m. on "Interdomain LDP-BGP VPLS Interworking." This presentation will address a new scalable and flexible interdomain VPLS signaling scheme which can be used to interconnect multiple domains running either the same or different VPLS signaling mechanisms.
