Navega Honduras Selects Juniper Networks Routers for Network Expansion

M-series to form IP/MPLS Backbone Supporting High-Capacity Communications Services throughout Central America

SUNNYVALE, Calif., February 5, 2008 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Navega Honduras, carrier of carriers and one of the leading telecom service providers in Central America, has selected Juniper Networks M-series routing platform for a network upgrade that will enable it to quickly and cost-effectively expand its advanced connectivity services. The upgraded network, developed in partnership with systems integrator and solutions provider, Solunet, will deliver high-performance and increased reliability and security, which will decrease costs and improve service quality on Navega Honduras' network.

The Navega Honduras network supports high-quality VoIP, Data, and Multiplay applications. The company had deployed Juniper Networks M-series routers in the network edge during 2006 and was pleased with the high level of performance, availability and service flexibility. The additional M120 routers in the network will offer a consistent level of performance, availability and operational efficiency throughout all the layers of the network infrastructure.

"Navega's goal is to be the best provider of high-performance communications services in Central America-a true carrier of carriers," said Axel Perez, Operations Manager, Navega Honduras. "By delivering industry-leading performance, reliability and security, Juniper Networks M-series will help us deliver on this goal, fueling our business growth and success."

According to Gustavo Rearte, Territory Account Manager, Solunet Caribbean-Latin America, the quick implementation and superior performance of the M-series went beyond Navega Honduras' expectations. "The Juniper Networks platform not only exceeds the increasing service demand in the network today, but also has the scaling capabilities to support emerging services as the network continues to evolve."

Navega Honduras is deploying Juniper's M120 Multi-service Edge Routers throughout Honduras. The M120 is one of the industry's most feature-rich and scalable multi-service edge routing platforms and enables service providers to efficiently migrate to next-generation, converged IP business and residential services. The M120 delivers support for 128 Gigabit Ethernet subscriber ports, with 10 Gigabit Ethernet or OC-192 uplink capabilities in an affordable, compact form factor. The M120 also leverages JUNOS software for consistent performance and simplified operations from network core to the edge.

"Many service providers such as Navega Honduras are in a position where they need to expand network capacity, while also increasing performance and service velocity," said Tim Lambie, vice president, Americas International, Juniper Networks. "And increasingly we are seeing these service providers are deploying Juniper Networks to help them grow their business through high-performance network solutions."

About Navega Honduras

Navega is one of the largest telecom and data carriers in Central America. It has built its infrastructure with enough capacity to cover all of the countries in the region, and it has a large presence in the NAP of the Americas. Navega initiated its operations in Guatemala in 2000 as part of a partnership with Iberdrola of Spain, Electricity of Portugal, TECO Energy and Comcel (A Millicom Group Company). In 2005, Navega and Celtel (Millicom) acquired the operations of MetroRed, a carrier in Honduras. From that point, more than $10M has been invested, allowing the construction of more than 3,000Km of fiber optic in redundant rings and SDH technology, with capacities of STM-1 to STM-64. Navega has also built an Ethernet and MPLS network in key cities.
