Global Crossing Deploys Juniper Networks T-series in Next Generation Core Network

T-Series Deliver the Reliability and Scalability to Accommodate Future Services Growth

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 6, 2006 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC) has selected Juniper Networks T-series core routing platforms as part of its next generation worldwide network backbone. Global Crossing has expanded its core network by more than quadrupling the capacity of its existing backbone infrastructure to meet growing traffic demands, and chose the Juniper Networks T-series for its non-disruptive multi-terabit scalability, rich feature set and proven performance and reliability.

In order to address the future needs of its high-capacity customers and growing demand for 10-Gigabit Ethernet services, Global Crossing is supplementing its infrastructure with 10-Gigabit capabilities in the core. By deploying a core infrastructure that includes Juniper T-series, Global Crossing's network can continue to scale with customer demands, and will be able to deliver the reliability and performance its customers expect.

Juniper Networks M-series platforms were also part of an earlier deployment in Global Crossing's worldwide network. The M-series platforms support applications such as VoIP aggregation and peering, and because the T-series platforms share the same JUNOS operating system, Global Crossing is able to reduce operation expenses by simplifying network management.

JUNOS is a proven, cutting-edge operating system that delivers the intelligence and service differentiation that enables service providers to assure a rich user experience for the next generation of multiservice networks. A single release of JUNOS runs across all Juniper M- and T-series routing platforms, reducing network complexity and ensuring consistent operation and performance throughout the IP network.

"Global Crossing's next generation core network supports both current and future voice, video and multimedia services," said Shailesh Shukla, vice president of service provider marketing and partnerships, Juniper Networks. "It is always gratifying when a leading network operator such as Global Crossing validates Juniper's JUNOS vision for an agile and open network."

Juniper Networks is a leader in next generation core routing deployments with more than 100 T-series customers worldwide and more than 1,000 units deployed. Both the M- and T-series leverage JUNOS, the industry's only operating system that combines proven reliability with a development cycle that ensures continuous, non-disruptive feature and functionality enhancements.
