Delaware Deploys Juniper Networks Routing and Security Solutions in Statewide Network

First State in Nation Secures and Assures Network Infrastructure with Comprehensive Juniper Networks Solution

SUNNYVALE, Calif., October 12, 2005 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that Delaware's Department of Technology and Information (DTI) has deployed Juniper Networks security solutions and M- and T-series routing platforms to improve the speed, performance and security of its statewide network. DTI provides ultra high-speed connections to over 350 state and school locations, and selected the Juniper Networks solution based on its proven reliability and advanced security and IP/MPLS capabilities.

DTI is using the M- and T-series platforms to form the core segment of its new Transparent LAN Service (TLS), a high-speed data service that connects existing LANs to each other, rather than through a central switching station. TLS enables Delaware to provide more bandwidth, faster speeds for sending data and running applications more smoothly, as well as improved security.

DTI also uses a range of best-in-class Juniper Networks security products, including the NetScreen-5400 firewall, Secure Access 5000 SSL VPN and IDP 1100 Intrusion Detection and Prevention device. The security solutions enable DTI to offer state agencies and their employees secure remote access and virtual firewall capabilities, while providing comprehensive protection against network intrusions, including worms, Trojans and spyware.

The M- and T-series together deliver a comprehensive portfolio of advanced routing features that uniquely combine best-in-class IP/MPLS capabilities with unmatched reliability, performance, and scalability. Shipping since April 2002, there are over 1000 T-series units deployed in production networks worldwide. With the multi-chassis TX Matrix technology, T-series routers enable network operators to scale to multi-terabit speeds non-disruptively. Both M- and T-series routing platforms feature the high-performance and resilient JUNOS operating system.
