NTTPC Communications Selects Juniper Networks to Improve Security and Scalability of VoIP Service

NAT Traversal Solution Reduces Costs and Speeds Implementation by Eliminating Customer Premise Equipment

BOSTON, Sep. 19, 2005 - At the 2005 Fall VON Conference and Expo, Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that NTTPC Communications, Inc., one of Japan's leading Internet service and network integration providers, has deployed Juniper Network's VF-series session border controllers to support voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) for its customers. The VF-series provides hosted network address translation (NAT) and firewall traversal to improve the security, performance and scalability of NTTPC's CUNets Plus Talk VoIP service.

"The Juniper Networks solution enables us to increase the scale of our CUNets Plus Talk VoIP application securely, with minimal network changes and no additional customer premises equipment," said Masayoshi Hosokawa, executive vice president, network services for NTTPC. "All of our CUNets Plus Talk business customers can now benefit from the cost-savings and additional features of our VoIP service, without making changes to their network infrastructure."

The Juniper Networks VF-series is an industry leading solution for hosted NAT traversal, hosted VPN/VLAN and network protection for hosted IP telephony services such as IP Centrex and managed IP PBX. With over 100 worldwide customer deployments, the award-winning VF-series is the most powerful and scalable family of carrier-grade session border controllers available.

The VF-series was deployed at NTTPC by NTT-AT, a Juniper systems integration partner. Though this deployment, NTTPC aims to deliver the best total solution through an advanced combination of people, technology and Japan's largest IP backbone network. NTTPC offers a vast lineup of business-oriented Internet services from highly reliable dedicated line access to fixed IP addresses for broadband and mobile access, as well as the CUNets Plus Talk voice service.

"Our VF-series is a great fit with the CUNets Plus talk service," said Opher Kahane, vice president, voice technologies for Juniper Networks. "We are pleased to be working with NTTPC, one of Japan's leading ISPs, to enable VoIP for its customers."
