French Broadband Telephony Operator Deploys Juniper Networks Edge Routing Solution for VoIP Infrastructure

E- and M-series Deliver the Reliability, Performance and Security to Enable High-Quality VoIP Service

SUNNYVALE, Calif., September 13th, 2005 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that B3G Telecom, one of Europe's leading broadband telephony operators, has deployed Juniper Networks E- and M-series edge routing platforms in its IP backbone network. The routing platforms, deployed by Juniper Networks' local partner Arche Communications, will enable B3G Telecom to provide high-quality, reliable Voice over IP (VoIP) services to business customers using multiple access technologies, including ADSL, SDSL and WiFi.

"B3G Telecom is building a highly scalable infrastructure that is capable of efficiently managing many thousands of VoIP subscribers accessing our network over diverse broadband access networks," said Christophe Bach, president and CTO of B3G Telecom. "Juniper Networks E-series routing platforms ensure that our VoIP service operates with industry-leading performance, availability and quality of service, helping us to attract and retain business users."

B3G Telecom originally deployed Juniper Networks M-series in its IP backbone network, and the superior reliability and performance of B3G's existing M-series network was a major factor in B3G's decision to expand with the E-series. Now B3G has also deployed Juniper Networks E-series Broadband Services Routers to provide access management functionality and to aggregate VoIP traffic from a range of access technologies, enabling B3G to manage calls more efficiently and at greater scale.

The Juniper Networks E-series platform is a central component of the broadband edge, with a proven architecture that has been deployed in the world's largest broadband networks. The E-series is capable of supporting multiple services-including broadband remote access server (BRAS), 802.11 wireless subscriber management, and voice over IP - on a single platform.

The M-series Multiservice Edge routing platforms uniquely combine best-in-class IP/MPLS capabilities with unmatched reliability, security, and performance. Juniper Networks M-series routers utilize a high performance hardware-based architecture and the JUNOS operating system, to ensure superior reliability and performance for latency sensitive applications such as voice, video, and mission critical applications.

"To deliver the quality and reliability of traditional voice calls, voice over IP depends on network availability, performance, low latency and jitter," said Eddie Minshull, vice president of operations in EMEA for Juniper Networks. "The E- and M-series routing platforms together deliver best-in-class performance and availability, enabling innovative operators like B3G to create compelling and competitive voice services that combine the cost and technology advantages of IP with the reliability of traditional phone services."
