Juniper Networks Leads in Broadband Aggregation Routing

Leading Analyst Firm Recognizes Juniper Networks' Market Leadership in Key Technology for Triple-Play Networks

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 8th, 2005 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that it received the number one position in the broadband aggregation router market in the second quarter of 2005 with a 41.4% market share based on revenue, according to Gartner.

Broadband aggregation routers accept and process large amounts of traffic from consumer broadband access aggregation devices such as DSLAMs, fiber to the home/curb (FTTx) termination equipment, and wireless head ends.

Juniper Networks E-series Broadband Services Routers have long been leaders in broadband aggregation, and as integrated voice, video and data (triple-play) services drive demand for broadband routers, Juniper continues to deliver new features and platforms-such as the recently introduced E320 - to support triple-play services with assured levels of quality, reliability and performance. The Juniper Networks E320 is the industry's largest capacity broadband router, and the entire E-series family delivers the performance, reliability and scale necessary for delivering multimedia broadband services such as IPTV, video on demand and IP telephony.

"A key customer benefit of the E-series product line is that the market-leading installed base of customers can now add triple-play services onto their deployed broadband assets. This raises the average revenue per user and delivers a host of new services to subscribers," said Judy Beningson, vice president of product management, Infrastructure Products Group, Juniper Networks. "We are pleased that Gartner recognizes our position and the market shift we are poised to capture."
