ISG 2000 Defeats Four Competing Products with Unmatched Performance and Security

SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 20, 2005 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced its ISG 2000 firewall/VPN with intrusion detection and prevention (IDP) has been awarded "Intrusion Detection/Protection Product of the Year" by IDG, a leading publisher of computer magazines and newspapers. The award was presented at the annual 2005 Techworld Network Awards in London.

"Juniper Networks was identified as the very best provider of intrusion detection and protection products based on independent evaluations," said Maxwell Cooter, chairman of the judging panel for the Techworld Network Awards. "Our independent panel of judges was extremely impressed by the quality of the Juniper ISG 2000 product, which stood out among intrusion detection/protection products with unmatched performance, functionality and security."

The award-winning Juniper Networks ISG 2000 is a fully integrated firewall and virtual private networking (VPN) system with intrusion detection and prevention capabilities. Providing multi-gigabit performance, the ISG 2000 is a purpose-built security solution that enables secure, reliable connectivity with protection against existing and emerging application level threats such as spyware, worms and Trojans. The product is ideally suited for securing enterprise, carrier and data center environments where advanced applications, such as VoIP and streaming media dictate consistent, scalable performance.

Each product submitted for the Techworld Network Awards was evaluated on numerous criteria, including functionality, features, innovation, performance, configuration, resilience, ease of use, price, fitness for purpose, and market position. The panel of judges was made up of leading networking technology analysts and editors including Techworld.com's Maxwell Cooter, Peter Judge and Manek Dubash, and independent industry experts Steve Broadhead and Dave Mitchell.
