Herakles Data Center Delivers Secure and Assured Networking with Juniper Networks

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 8, 2005 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that Herakles Data Center, a collocation and managed services provider, has deployed the Juniper Networks M7i routing platform to secure and assure the data traversing its network at its Sacramento, California headquarters. The deployment is helping the company maintain the "five nines" (99.999 percent) infrastructure reliability that its more than 100 customers have come to expect.

Previously using an older Juniper Networks M-series router, Herakles Data Center upgraded to the Juniper Networks M7i router. The ease of use and consistency of the JUNOS software allowed for a seamless migration with the upgrade - completed in less than eight minutes for each router.

"The migration from our existing router to the M7i was very successful. We had no downtime and, because the upgrade was flawless, our customers didn't even know we had made a change," said Lou Kirchner, President and CEO at Herakles Data Center. "With the Juniper Networks M-series, Herakles Data Center can process network traffic with high levels of reliability and intelligence for secure and assured service delivery without performance compromise. This allows us to maintain the "five nines" (99.999 percent) infrastructure reliability that we promise customers."

Herakles Data Center is leveraging the Juniper Networks M7i Multiservice router for its network infrastructure and for its roughly 100 customers. M-series routers provide secure and reliable IP/MPLS routing and services with uncompromising performance. The intelligence and rich packet processing of the M7i will enable Herakles to support mission critical services, as well as latency sensitive applications such as voice and video.
