MIND Secures and Assures Remote Access Solution with Juniper Networks

IT Provider Offers SSL VPN with Juniper Networks NetScreen Secure Access Series

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 5, 2005 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that Mitsubishi Electric Information Network Corporation (MIND) has deployed Juniper Networks Secure Access appliances to support its new mobile access solution based on Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Virtual Private Networks (VPN). MIND chose to implement its new SSL-based VPN services with the Juniper Networks solution to provide customers with greater flexibility, security, and performance assurance in a variety of operating environments and usage conditions.

"Remote access is an important aspect of business for our customers and requires a completely reliable and secure managed solution that customers can use virtually anywhere," said Kazuhito Kudo, General Manager, Network Service Department, MIND. "The NetScreen SA series provides the reliability and security we require, is easy to deploy and manage, and is also incredibly flexible, allowing for full compatibility with our existing user authentication system."

MIND offers a comprehensive portfolio of outsourced IT services including on-site LAN/WAN integration and IT support. The company also hosts managed network services for its customers at its data centers. Over 65,000 users from approximately 400 companies are already using MIND's managed VPN service.

Juniper Networks Secure Access SSL VPN appliances are built on the industry-leading Instant Virtual Extranet SSL VPN platform. Tailored for the needs of remote access, intranet, and extranet environments, the Secure Access appliances offer a broad set of access options, comprehensive endpoint defense, high performance management and scalability, and advanced access management capabilities. In addition, the core security design and architecture of the Instant Virtual Extranet platform have been audited by lead third-party security experts such as TruSecure Corporation and Cryptography Research.

With the SA series' unique host checker feature, MIND customers will be assured that VPN users meet complete security compliance and clearance by verifying that all connecting devices are virus-free and properly protected against network threats.

According to Infonetics Research, Inc., Juniper Networks is the market share leader in SSL VPN, with 42 percent market share in the fourth quarter of 2004.

"Secure and assured access to corporate resources is becoming a necessity, especially in nations such as Japan where broadband access is increasingly ubiquitous," said Masanori Osuga, vice president of Japan for Juniper Networks. "With our solutions, MIND's SSL VPN provides remote connectivity with the assurance of performance and security outlined in the Infranet vision."
