TIME dotCom Deploys Next-Generation Virtual Private LAN Service with Juniper Networks

M-series Multi-Service Edge Routing Platforms Offer Reliability and Full Range of VPLS Edge Features for Prominent Malaysia Service Provider

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 1, 2005 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that TIME dotCom Berhad, one of Malaysia's leading communications solutions providers, has deployed Juniper Networks M-series multi-service edge routing platforms to support its new value-added Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS).

TIME dotCom has deployed the M-series in its Metro Back Bone Network (MBBN) project, creating Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) based on Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS). It is the first Internet service provider in Malaysia to offer a complete range of MPLS-based VPN services, including layer 2 VPN, layer 3 VPN and VPLS (multipoint-to-multipoint) services.

"TIME dotCom is pleased to announce that with the M-series, we are now able to offer VPLS and provide to our customers a revolutionary method for them to build wide area topologies," said Md. Fauzi Haji Omar, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of TIME dotCom.

"Our confidence in Juniper Networks is founded upon more than three years of reliable performance of their platforms in our infrastructure," Md. Fauzi added. "We are convinced this initiative with Juniper Networks will further complement TIME dotCom's existing range of product and services, and bring better value for our stakeholders and customers alike."

VPLS combines the advantages of multipoint-to-multipoint Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) found in layer 3 VPNs with the ease-of-use inherent in layer 2 VPNs, resulting in a next-generation technology ideal for Metro Ethernet networks. Via VPLS, users can seamlessly connect disparate sites in a Wide Area Network (WAN) as easily as if the sites were located on a Local Area Network (LAN).

Juniper Networks M-series multi-service edge routing platforms are deployed in some of the world's largest service provider networks, which include, amongst others, Telstra and British Telecom. The platform is designed to deliver advanced Internet Protocol / Multi-protocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS) services at scale to enable service providers to maximize their return on investment by rapidly and efficiently deploying advanced IP services. Constructed with a clean separation between the control plane, forwarding plane and services plane, the M-series supports multiple services on a single platform without performance degradation. It uses a single modular JUNOS operating system image across all platforms for consistent services at a low operational cost.

"TIME dotCom is now leveraging the comprehensive edge connectivity features of the M-series to deploy our premium VPLS service," continued Md. Fauzi. "Launching VPLS is the next phase in our MPLS roll-out, and now we can immediately realize additional revenue by providing reliable, high-performance differentiated services catering to the varied needs of our customers."

"TIME dotCom's continuing confidence in our routing platform is a testament to the reliability and flexibility of the M-series," said Wan Ahmad Kamal Wan Halim, Juniper Networks sales director for Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and Vietnam. "The Infranet vision of next-generation networks requires publicly-accessible infrastructure to seamlessly support a full range of high-quality services. The M-series has been designed to securely support assured IP/MPLS services including VPLS, real-time voice and video, bandwidth on demand, rich digital media multicast and IPv6 services. It is the ideal platform for service providers to scale beyond commodity offerings to new revenue-generating IP/MPLS services."

TIME dotCom's recent deployment builds upon a previous agreement between Juniper Networks and TIME dotCom first announced in June 2001.
