Juniper Networks Showcases Solutions for Transforming the Business of Networking at Supercomm 2004

Media Advisory - June 21, 2004

When: June 21 - June 24, 2004

Where: SUPERCOMM, McCormick Place, Chicago, IL

What: At SUPERCOMM 2004, Juniper Networks (NASDAQ: JNPR) (booth #24104) will showcase its industry-leading portfolio of networking and security solutions that transform the business of networking.

Featured in the booth will be the first public demonstrations of the recently announced Juniper Networks J-Series Services Router and the NetScreen-5GT ADSL security appliance. This will be complemented by demonstrations of Juniper Networks industry-leading infrastructure solutions, including the E-, M- and T-Series routing platforms and the SDX-300 Service Deployment System (SDX). Also on display will be Juniper Networks' range of security solutions featuring intrusion detection, deep inspection firewalls as well as IPSec and SSL VPN products.

In collaboration with Microsoft, Juniper Networks will demonstrate the delivery of premium video quality for Microsoft's IPTV software solution over the Juniper E-series platform despite access network congestion. This demonstration will also be available in the Microsoft booth at the show (booth # 24100).

Juniper Networks and Polycom will showcase a proof-of-concept video services demonstration which highlights integration between the Juniper Networks SDX-300 and Polycom's PathNavigator (gatekeeper) platform to dynamically and intelligently enhance video conferencing call quality over Juniper Networks' routing platforms and Polycom video appliances.

Juniper Networks will also be demonstrating joint solutions with the following strategic partners:

Lucent Technologies (booth # 11211)

Juniper Networks and Lucent Technologies will give a live demonstration of the jointly developed Multiservice MPLS and Enhanced IP VPN Unified Solutions. Lucent will have a live, integrated network showing IP VPNs, L2 VPNs, and Multilink Frame Relay Services as well as Converged Voice over ATM and Wireless WiFi/Data all running over a converged IP/MPLS core. The demonstration will feature the Juniper Networks T640, M320, and M40e routing platforms and the new Lucent CBX 3500TM Multiservice Edge Switch, CBX 500® and, GX 550® Multiservice WAN Switches, PSAX 4500 Multiservice Media Gateway, the new Lucent Navis® EMS-JMTE, Navis® EMS-CBGX , and Navis® Provisioning Manager software for automated layer 2/3, multi-vendor service configuration and activation.

Siemens (booth # 27203)

Juniper Networks and Siemens will showcase the results of their collaboration to deliver true carrier grade packet voice services with a demonstration of the RESIPTM (Resilient IP Networks) solution. The demonstration will show multiple network scenarios such as a router overload, router failure and fiber cut, and illustrate how traffic is re-routed in the network with no impact on voice quality.

In addition, a demonstration of the Siemens tango™ Access PC-based client will showcase the industry's first dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 PPPoE client for Windows(R). Used in conjunction with the Juniper Networks E-Series routers, the tango™ Access client provides simultaneous support for IPv4 and IPv6 traffic over a single PPPoE connection. This capability allows service providers a smooth migration from IPv4 to IPv6 and is key to the mass market availability of IPv6.

Participation in the IP Optical Pavilion (booth # 11142)

The live demonstrations in the booth will showcase the deployment of Internet priority services and novel applications over a fully integrated IP Optical infrastructure. The network will provide an opportunity for the attendees to witness a true IP Optical network with multi-service edge for layer 2 aggregation and layer 3/layer 2 VPNs, security services, virtualized firewalls, and IPv6 migration strategies overlaid on a self-healing converged IPv4 core. E- and M -series will be a part of this demonstration.
