Juniper Networks M-series Earns ICSA Labs Firewall Certification

Extends J-Protect Security Toolkit Richness

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 30, 2004 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) announced that its M-series routing platforms have fulfilled the criteria for ICSA Labs Corporate Firewall Certification Version 4.0. ICSA Labs, an independent division of TruSecure Corporation, tests and certifies over 90 percent of security technology products in the world today. Its Corporate Firewall Certification sets an industry-accepted standard for all products with firewall capabilities.

The M-series and the Adaptive Services PIC (ASP) provide greater network protection with integrated ICSA Labs-certified stateful firewall capabilities. A key component of Juniper Networks J-Protect Security Toolkit, the Adaptive Services PIC provides a hardware-based stateful firewall capability that enables the delivery of high performance security and VPN services, while simultaneously providing stateful protection of network resources.

"The ICSA Labs certification is a brand that our customers trust and value for security assurance," said Todd Shimizu, solutions marketing manager, Juniper Networks. "Achieving ICSA Labs firewall certification for M-series demonstrates our commitment to helping our customers protect their networks and protect their users' experiences."

"Juniper Networks has demonstrated their commitment to raising the bar for network security products," said George Japak, vice president of ICSA Labs. "As organizations continue to develop and deploy networks, security at every stage becomes increasingly important."

Juniper Networks M-series platform enables customers to reduce capital and operational expenses by running multiple services over the same high-density platforms. Deployable at the edge of provider networks, in small and medium cores, and in various peering, route reflector and data center applications, the M-series often plays a key a role in the overall network security.
