Leading French I.T. Publisher Grants NetScreen Three Distinguished Security Awards Recognizing Product Innovation
SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 23, 2004 - NetScreen Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: NSCN) today announced that it received three major awards for its security solutions in the inaugural Security Trophies event held by leading French I.T. publisher Groupe Tests.
With its NetScreen-SA 5000 platform, which offers secure sockets layer (SSL) -based virtual private network (VPN) remote access functionality, NetScreen received the VPN solutions category award and the event’s flagship “Best Innovation” award, which compared the winners from 11 security-specific categories to determine the best overall security technology.
In the Firewall/IDS/IPS category, NetScreen won with its range of custom-built, integrated firewall and VPN devices. The jury chose it as the clear winner because of its Deep Inspection firewall functionality, which builds on the strength of stateful inspection and integrates intrusion prevention technology into the firewall to provide application-level attack protection for the network perimeter.
A Groupe Tests jury, which included reporters and reviewers employed by the publishing company, industry experts, chief security officers and IT researchers, among others, decided winners of the awards - presented in Paris on March 18, 2004 - based upon detailed technical reports and rigorous independent testing.
