SingTel Expands Consumer Broadband Network with Siemens and Juniper Networks

Siemens Singapore Awarded SingTel Contract to Supply, Install and Maintain Additional Juniper Networks Routing Platforms

SUNNYVALE, Calif., January 12, 2004 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) and Siemens Information and Communication Networks (ICN) Singapore today announced that they will provide Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) with advanced routing solutions to expand one of Asia's largest consumer broadband networks.

Siemens ICN Singapore will supply the carrier with Juniper Networks E-series routing platforms deployed in multiple points of presence to aggregate bandwidth and provide superior broadband services to Singapore's growing and increasingly demanding domestic customer base.

"Singapore is one of Asia's most wired and digitally sophisticated cities and consumers have high expectations when it comes to the quality of their broadband experience," said Ho Siaw Hong, vice president of Fixed Networks for SingTel. "This expansion project will enable us to meet the strong demand for high quality, domestic broadband access. We have also been working with Siemens in the earlier phases of our network expansion and are satisfied with the level of in-country support provided."

Commenting on the latest expansion contract, Mr Guenther Braeuning, senior vice-president of Siemens ICN Singapore, said "Siemens is committed to providing reliable and innovative services to consumers and business customers alike, and we are very proud to be selected once again as the preferred working partner for SingTel in this latest expansion project."

"SingTel is one of several Asian customers who have had positive experiences with our products and therefore SingTel has selected Juniper again for the next stage of their network expansion programs," said Brad Gray, vice-president, Asia South Pacific for Juniper Networks. "We see SingTel's decision to expand with Juniper Networks products as a validation of the high performance and advanced feature set of our platforms, which have already been proven to perform as expected in SingTel's production network."

The expansion, which is being implemented by Siemens ICN Singapore, is scheduled for completion this month.
