NetScreen Secure Access Appliance Wins Network Computing Magazine Editor's Choice Award in Competitive SSL VPN Lab Review
SUNNYVALE, CA - December 1, 2003 - NetScreen Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: NSCN) today announced that its NetScreen-SA 5000 Series SSL VPN, formerly the Neoteris® Access 5000 Series, has won the coveted Editor’s Choice Award from CMP Media LLC’s Network Computing magazine in an extensive SSL VPN industry competitive lab review.
The recognition from Network Computing distinguishes the NetScreen-SA 5000 Series, a member of the Neoteris Secure Access Appliance product family, as the leading SSL VPN solution reviewed for deploying secure access to enterprise applications and information. This competitive lab review, published in the Nov. 13 issue of Network Computing, evaluated eight of today’s leading SSL-based remote access products. The review can be found at http://www.nwc.com/showitem.jhtml?articleID=16000510&pgno=1.
“The Neoteris Access 5000 Series sets the security standard,” the review stated. “We awarded it our Editor’s Choice because it provides a full-featured product with a wealth of configuration options, good authentication and access-control features, and sound application support. The appliance also has extensive user and group definitions that go far beyond those offered by the other products we tested.”
According to the evaluation, the NetScreen product received the best scores out of the competitive field, including in the categories of Portal Configuration, Authentication, and Browser Security. According to the review, Portal Configuration covers link building in the user interface and additional configurable features; Authentication covers support for multiple authentication servers and retrieval of group memberships; and Browser Security refers to cache wiping, host configuration enforcement and cookie caching.
“NetScreen is excited that the Neoteris Access 5000 Series appliance, now called the NetScreen-SA 5000 Series, has been named as the leading SSL VPN solution in this high-profile review by Network Computing - one of the industry’s most comprehensive and inclusive competitive labs reviews,” said Jason Matlof, vice president of marketing for NetScreen’s secure access products. “This recognition validates our leading position in the SSL VPN market, and demonstrates the value and breadth of the security and SSL-based access functionalities in our products.”
