End of Service for NetScreen-1000
End of Service
The NetScreen-1000 system will reach End of Service on March-3-2006, in accordance
with standard Juniper End of Life Policies and Procedures.
Summary of Key Milestones
Last Time Buys
NetScreen will cease to manufacture any more NetScreen-1000 systems as
of March 11, 2003, the End of Manufacturing (EOM) date. Although partners have
60 days from this date to place any last orders, NetScreen will only be able
to fulfill these orders out of existing inventory and is not obligated to fulfill
any orders after this date, as per Juniper End of Life Policies and Procedures.
Stock Rotation
Where applicable per contract, stock rotation rights may be exercised until
the EOM date only. NetScreen is not obligated to honor any requests for stock
rotation after this date.
Part Numbers
Affected
Hardware
These part numbers will be removed from the price list in Jan 2003 and cannot
be ordered after EOM date.

Software
These part numbers can be ordered up until the EOS date, but only for those
versions of ScreenOS that are supported on the NetScreen-1000.

Upgrade Options
Customers seeking a NetScreen security solution with similar performance and
capacities are encouraged to evaluate the next appliance in the product line,
the NetScreen-5200 or NetScreen-500 appliance.
Software
When upgrading to a more recent release, certain hardware platforms may no longer
be supported. For the NetScreen-1000, the last version of ScreenOS supported
is version 2.8. No further software upgrade is available for the NetScreen-1000
platform. ScreenOS v2.8 has also started its End of Service process.
