Edit and Delete a User

Edit a User

You must be an administrator or a user with the privileges to add, edit, and delete users.
Note:

An administrator can view the e-mail address and edit the full name of any user in the same organization. As a user, you can only edit the details of your account.

  1. Click Admin > Users.
    The Users page is displayed.
  2. Select the user, and click the pencil icon.
    The Edit User page is displayed.
  3. Modify the following fields:

    Field Description
    Reset Password Click Reset Password to reset the user password.
    Full Name

    Enter the full name of the user within a maximum of 32 alphanumeric characters. The name can contain special characters, such as underscores and hyphens.

    E-mail

    Enter a valid email address in the 'user@domain' format.

    Juniper Security Director uses the email address to send subscription information, alert notifications, and similar updates.

    User Type

    Users created through the portal are categorized as local users. Users who log in to the portal using network (SSO) credentials are categorized as SSO users.

    If you select Local for an SSO user, the user can log in to the portal using their account or network credentials.

    If you select SAML (SSO) for a local user, the user can log into the portal only with their network credentials. However, ensure that the user is configured in your IdP before you update the provider type.

    Role

    Assign one or more roles to the user.

  4. Click OK to save the changes.

A confirmation message indicating that the user account is modified is displayed and the updated information about the user is displayed on the Users page.

Delete a User

  1. Click Admin > Users.
    The Users page is displayed.
  2. Select the user, and click the trash can icon.
    You are prompted to confirm if you want to delete the user.
  3. Click Yes to delete the user.

A confirmation message indicating that the selected user account is deleted from Juniper Security Director is displayed. The user account is also removed from the Users page.
