Take a Backup of the Database

Use this page to view the database backup summary, test a connection using backup server details and set a schedule for the database backup.

Database Backup Summary provides the details and status of all the existing job schedules.

To test a connection and to set a backup schedule:

  1. Click Administration > Data Management.

    The Data Management page opens.

  2. Select Database Backup.
  3. To test a connection, enter the server details as shown in Table 1.

    Field

    Description

    SCP hostname

    The external server's IP address for backup storage.

    Directory path

    External server's directory path.

    Username

    Login username for the external server.

    Password

    External server password.

    Password must be more than or equal to 10 characters.

  4. Click Test Connection to verify the reachability of the external server from Juniper Security Director node.
  5. Enter the details as shown Table 2 to modify the database backup setting or to schedule a backup activity.

    Schedule

    Select an option as required:

    • Do not backup—Select if you do not want to backup the database.

    • Run backup now—Select if you want to run the backup immediately.

    • Backup everyday—Select to set the backup activity everyday at a specified time. You can set the time and date for the schedule to start.

    Backup copies

    You can either choose to keep all the backup copies or one backup copy at a time on the external server.

  6. Click Save to save the changes.
    You can restore the database backup through CLI. For details, see service configdb (Database).
