Configure an Explicit Proxy Profile

The explicit proxy profile tells Secure Edge which port to listen to for the client-side traffic and which traffic to decrypt or bypass.

A Secure Edge explicit forward proxy deployment provides an easy way to handle web requests from the remote users. You can configure the client browsers to point to a forward proxy server.

  1. Select Secure Edge > Service Administration > Explicit Proxy.
The Explicit Proxy Profile page opens.
  2. Complete the configuration according to the guidelines in Table 1
Table 1: Fields on the Explicit Proxy Profile Page

    Setting

    Guideline

    Port

Enter a proxy port number between 8000 to 9999.

    Decrypt profile

Select a decrypt profile from the list.

A decrypt profile is a set of certificates that are used to decrypt the incoming SSL traffic to Secure Edge. If a decrypt profile is unavailable, click Create Decrypt Profile to create a new profile. See Create a Decrypt Profile.

  3. Click Save.
