Common Operations on a Security Policy Rule

Perform common operations on a security policy rule from the security policy page.

To perform common operations on a security policy rule:

  1. Select Security > Security Policies.

    The Security Policies page is displayed.

  2. Click a security policy rule and click More.

    The drop-down menu shows common operations for the security policy rule.

  3. Complete the configuration according to the guidelines in the following table.

    Add Rule Before

    Add a security policy rule before an existing policy rule.

    Add Rule After

    Add a security policy rule after an existing policy rule.

    Copy

    • Copy a security policy rule and paste it within the security policy.

    • Copy multiple security policy rules and paste the policy rules within same security policy.

    • Copy a security policy rule and paste the policy rule from one policy to another policy.

    • Copy multiple security policy rules and paste the policy rules from one policy to another policy.

    You cannot copy and paste zone-based rules to global rules or vice versa.

    Cut

    Cut a security policy rule to paste the policy rule at a different sequence to reorder the policy rule.

    Paste

    Before—Paste the security policy rules before an existing policy rule.

    After—Paste the security policy rules after an existing policy rule.

    Clone

    Create a copy of a security policy rule.

    Enable

    Enable the security policy rule.

    Disable

    Disable the security policy rule.

    Move

    Move the security policy rule by selecting one of the following options:

    • Move Top

    • Move Up

    • Move Down

    • Move Bottom

    Clear All Selections

    Clear the sections for the security policy rules.

    Rule Group

    Create Rule Group

    Security policy rule groups are useful to group specific types of policy rules or arrange the policy rules for a better view.

    To create a security policy rule group:

    1. Select a policy rule click More > Rule Group > Create Rule Group.
    2. Enter the name and description for the policy rule group.
    3. Click OK to save the changes.

    Move to Rule Group

    Move a security policy rule to an existing policy rule group.

    Modify Rule Group

    To modify a security policy rule group:

    1. Select the policy rule group.
    2. Right-click the policy rule group and select Rule Group > Modify Rule Group.
    3. In the Modify Rule Group page, enter the policy rule group name and description.
    4. Click OK to save the changes.

    Ungroup Rule

    Remove a security policy rule from the rule group.

    Ungroup Rule Group

    Ungroup a security policy rule group to delete the policy rule group.

    To remove a rule group, select the rule group and click > More > Rule Group > Ungroup Rule Group.
