About the Task Scheduler Page

To access this page, select Administration > Task Scheduler.

Use the Task Scheduler page to view and manage custom (user-created) tasks in Paragon Pathfinder. You can only view the system tasks that are launched by the Path Computation Element (PCE) to run scripts; you cannot add, modify, or delete the tasks.

The system tasks are:

  • CollectionCleanup: Purges old raw and aggregated analytics data.

  • ESRollup: Aggregates the collected data from the previous hour.

Tasks You Can Perform

You can perform the following tasks from this page:

  • View the list of scheduled and completed tasks, and their details—See Table 1 for information.

  • Add tasks—Currently, you can add the following tasks:

    Task Group - Utility Tasks:

  • Modify the parameters configured for a task—See Edit and Delete Tasks.

If you want the chained tasks to be displayed separately, click the Toggle Task Grouping icon on the top-right corner of the tasks table. From the list that appears, select Chained Task Group. The chained tasks now appear in separate chained task groups.

To revert to the default view, click the Toggle Task Grouping icon and select Disable Grouping. The Task Scheduler page now displays all the scheduled and completed tasks, without any grouping.

To expand or collapse the chained task groups, click the Toggle Task Grouping icon and select Expand All or Collapse All. The tasks under the chained task groups are displayed or collapsed. Alternatively, click the + or - icon beside the task group name to expand or collapse the tasks under a task group.

  • Sort columns displayed in the table—Hover over any column heading and click the down arrow that appears. From the list, select Sort Ascending or Sort Descending to sort the columns in ascending order or descending order, respectively.

  • Show or hide columns displayed on the page—Hover over any column heading and click the down arrow that appears. From the list, select Columns and then, select the check boxes corresponding to the columns that you want to view. The columns that you selected are displayed on the page.

  • View the summary, status, and history of a task—Select a task and click the Summary tab to view details of the task (such as the start date and time, end date and time, task result, and task status). Click the Status tab to view the detailed status (such as the job type and status) of the task. Click the History tab to view the start date and time and end date and time of the execution, each time the task was executed. Click the + icon corresponding to an entry to view the detailed status of the task.

You can also download the task history as a comma-separated values (CSV) file to your local system.

To refresh the history, click the refresh icon (circular arrow) at the bottom of the History tab.
