Wireless Management Features

The Mist portal serves as a single pane of glass for configuration, troubleshooting, and as a collection point for telemetry sent from the APs and network devices. You don't need to install or manage intermediary controllers.

On the Mist portal, Mist AI aggregates and analyzes data from multiple APs, collected over multiple days, using artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide perspective and trend analysis. Based on the data it sees, Mist AI can automatically push adaptive changes to the APs. The portal includes insights and interactive charts showing service level experience (SLE), that you can use to understand and troubleshoot the wireless clients' experience. See Wireless Service Levels.

For example, you can define service set identifiers (SSIDs) and configure WLAN settings in one or more WLAN templates. Additionally, you can configure AP settings (including WLAN access) in a device profile. By attaching different groups of APs to different device profiles, and then mixing and matching WLAN and device profile combinations, you can support any number of different AP use cases and wireless client needs.
