Configure Bridge Priority on Switches via Mist
Follow these steps to identify which bridge gets priority.
You can configure bridge priority at the switch template level or switch level.
The bridge priority value along with the device MAC address forms the bridge ID, which determines the bridge to be elected as the root bridge in a Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) topology. The priority value is useful when two bridges have the same path cost to the root bridge.
To configure bridge priority at the switch level:
To configure bridge priority at the switch template level:
Select Organization > Switch Templates > Template Name to navigate to a desired switch template.
Scroll down to the Select Switches Configuration section.
Either select an existing rule from the left or click Add Rule to create a new rule.
Go to the STP Bridge Priority tab, and select the desired bridge priority value from the Bridge Priority drop-down list.
Select the check mark at the top right of the Rule window to save the rule.
Click Save to save the switch template.
Click Save on the Confirm changes window.
You can also configure it the same way in the site-level switch templates (Site > Switch Configuration).
