About this Document

This document presents a validated design for a Service Provider Hybrid Cloud solution that delivers high‑performance networking for telco workloads. The solution leverages an EVPN‑VXLAN bridged overlay fabric, host‑based routing (JCNR/HBR), and SR‑IOV acceleration to support diverse workload requirements across a private cloud environment.

The design supports multitenant deployments, including 5G Core cloud‑native network functions (CNFs), enterprise virtual network functions (VNFs), analytics platforms, and customer specific applications deployed across bare‑metal servers, virtual machines, and Kubernetes clusters. These workloads have diverse networking requirements ranging from standard overlay-based connectivity to ultra-low-latency, high-throughput SR-IOV based data paths.

The underlay network is built as an IPv6-IPV4 spine-leaf 3-clos fabric. The overlay network uses EVPN-VXLAN for tenant isolation, MAC-VRF/IP-VRF segmentation, and scalable L2/L3 connectivity across the fabric. The architecture also incorporates dedicated off‑ramp routing and security services, enabling controlled and secure connectivity to public cloud resources while maintaining operational simplicity and scalability.
